Getting Started with Bakwa
Guide · 5 min read
Bakwa turns the chats your business already gets into an organised desk — on your own PC, free forever. Here is the whole setup, start to finish.
1. Install the app
Download Bakwa for Windows (10/11) or Mac (macOS 12+) from bakwa.online/download, run the installer and open the app. It says "This PC is online and ready". Log in with your mobile number — a one-time code arrives on your phone — or with an email link.
2. Connect your first number
Settings, Numbers, Connect. On your phone open Linked devices, Link a device, and scan the code on the screen (or type the pairing code). Within a few seconds your chats appear in the Inbox. Your phone keeps working as before; Bakwa is simply another linked device. Keep the phone online at least once every 14 days.
3. Learn the inbox in 60 seconds
Left rail: one icon per number, "All" for everything. Folders: Inbox, Unread, Mine, Waiting reply, Done, Archive. Tags with counts (Order, Payment, Delivered, Complaint — rename them to suit you). Open a chat, type a reply, press Send. Mark it Done when finished; it leaves the Inbox and stays searchable.
4. Save your first quick replies
Tools, Quick replies, New. Shortcut /rate, text "Today's rate list: ...". In any chat type / and pick it. Use variables like {name} and {balance} and they fill in by themselves.
5. Switch on an auto reply
Auto Reply, Off-hours: "We're open 10 am to 7 pm. A person will reply shortly." It sends once per customer per six hours and never to groups.
6. Add your team (Business plan)
Settings, Web logins, Add operator: name, username, PIN. They open app.bakwa.online on a phone or browser and reply from anywhere while your PC is on.
